Developments of a Robotic Arm for Dangerous Object Disposal

M. Barathraj, M. Arshath Michael, P. Dinesh Kumar, V.N. Vijay Kumar, M. Reegan, Sujitha Sujitha

Mobile robots for search and rescue operations in hazardous environments have been actively studied in recent years One promising type of rescue robots is the so-called snake-like robot, which is typically composed of three or more segments that are connected serially. Because of the long and slender shape, snake-like robots are expected to be effective for searches in narrow spaces and over rubbles in quake-devastated regions, etc. In addition, snake-like robots for pipe inspection have been reported in the literature.
