The Value of the Just in Time System for Enhancing the Supply Chain Performance in Organizations in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Dr. Ali Mohamed Abbas Kamali

Abstract

This paper aims to contribute to the existing literature by comprehensively reviewing the concepts and technologies being considered for implementing the Just In Time (JIT) approach in supply chain management, and theories based on the literature review by focusing on the current technology structure in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This paper sheds light on the current and potential technologies that can be adopted by organizations to comprehend the underlying technology applications that may develop and improve the current and future of the supply chain processes in Bahrain.

This qualitative based paper analyzed the activities in manufacturing enterprise production by using JIT approaches, as costs of inventory management are always high according to many researchers.  The conclusions are based on a general indication to achieve successful JIT implementation based on the findings of the literature review which were elaborated through case studies.

This research is based on a comprehensive review of literature on supply chain management and JIT, and then conducted the following step model: relevant material collection, materials analysis, and material evaluation.
