Slotted Monopole Antenna for Dual Band Application

S. Abiramasundari, S. Gowthamakrishnan

Abstract

A monopole antenna consisting of slots at the centre of the radiating patch and at the bottom end of the feed line is proposed. Meander line connects the right and left ends of the monopole antenna while micro strip feeding method is used to energise the antenna. Symmetrical meander lines are used in this antenna. The proposed antenna increases the directivity. Monopole antenna works in dual band of C and X band at frequencies 5.4 GHz and 7 GHz. The proposed antenna is used in Active sensors (satellite), Defence systems, Weather radar and UWB applications. It covers wide band of frequency.
