Hybrid Approach to Detect a Fire based on Motion Color and Edge

Akshay Thokale, Poonam Sonar

Abstract

Fire is a great threat to human life and social security. Early fire detection is most important because it causes huge damage to individual as well as properties.  Now a day, trend of intelligent surveillance system based on video based contents has been increases. In this paper, we propose and analyse the vision based fire detection system which consist mainly three algorithms such as color, motion and edge. In color algorithm results are analyzed by using HSV model.  We tested the system for indoor as well as outdoor environment. Proposed algorithm shows the promising results.
