Ranked XML Semantic Query Processing

Abstract


In this paper Ranked Xml Semantic Query Processing Keyword search using CR (Coherency Ranking) is presented. Keyword search is a user friendly mechanism for retrieving XML data in web and scientific applications. An intuitively compelling but vaguely defined goal is to identify matches to query keywords that are relevant to the user. However, it is hard to directly evaluate the relevance of query results due to the inherent ambiguity of search semantics. As an effective search method to retrieve useful information, keyword search has gotten a great success in IR field. However, the inherently hierarchical structure of XML data makes the task of retrieving the desired information from XML data more challenging than that from flat documents. This search is extended for image and file formats.
