A Review on Speech Recognition Techniques

S. Sivadharshini

Abstract

This paper presents the basic idea of speech recognition, proposed types of speech recognition, pros and cons with various pattern matching approaches for recognizing the speech of the different speaker. Nowadays research in speech recognition is motivated for ASR system that supports speaker independent operations and continuous speech in different language. Speech recognition, the ability of devices to respond to spoken commands. Speech recognition enables hands-free control of various devices and equipment (a particular boon to many disabled persons), provides input to automatic translation, and creates print-ready dictation. Speech recognition is used to identify words in spoken language. Voice recognition is a biometric technology used to identify a particular individual's voice or for speaker identification.
