Design of Four Channel Uniform Filter Bank and Oversampled Three Channels FIR Filter Banks for 2-D Image

S.R. Chougule, Dr.R.S. Patil

Abstract

In this paper comparison of four channel uniform critical sampled filter bank with proposed oversampled three channels FIR filter banks [FB] is carried out for two dimensional ((2-D )medical image. Three channels are selected likewise which gives the result near perfect reconstruction filter bank. The inband aliasing is significantly reduced by selecting proper frequency spectrum and design of filters of filter banks. Results of oversampled FIR filter bank and 4-channel uniform filter bank for two dimensional MRI image with energy and histogram of images are compared. By applying wavelet transform energy is preserved at output of oversampled filter banks. Comparison of energy restored at output image of each filter bank with input image energy is carried out. Proposed 3-channel filter bank output gives better results.
