Using Fuzzy Cognitive Maps and Fuzzy Relation Equation to Estimate the Peak Hours of the Day for Transport System

Dhrubajyoti Ghosh, Anita Pal

Abstract

The fuzzy model is a finite set of fuzzy relations that form an algorithm for determining the outputs of a process from some finite number of past inputs and outputs. There are various types of fuzzy models. In this paper, we use 2 fuzzy models and use them to solve a real world problem. We define Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCMs) and identify the maximum utilization of a time period in a day of a transport system. We have considered only the peak hours of a day since the passenger demand is very high only during this time period. Also we introduced another fuzzy model known as Fuzzy Relational Equations (FREs) and it is used to estimate the peak hours of the day for transport system.
