Load Balancing Algorithms and Simulation Tools in Cloud Environment

Abstract


Cloud Computing offers on-demand availability of remote computing resources and services like infrastructure, storage, applications and platform to the users based on pay-per-use model. Selection of appropriate service broker policy by the service broker to select the cost-effective data center, and selection of suitable load balancing algorithm to allocate virtual machines for the execution of user task both are very important, as it decides the overall cost, processing time and response time. Deploying and testing algorithms and policy in real cloud environment is very costly, simulation toolkit like CloudAnalyst, CloudSim and others are used to model, analyze and simulate cloud computing services. This paper describes various service broker policies, load balancing policies, Load balancing algorithms and Simulation tools of cloud computing.
