Overview of Multimedia Communication and its Challenges

Prajakta Sandeep Jadhav

Abstract

Currently, Mobile phone and desktops are becoming more and more advanced day by day. These systems provide wide variety of multimedia application. Multimedia communication system should provide good quality of service. Multimedia includes continuous data such as audio, video and discrete data such as text, graphics. The challenge of multimedia communication system is to deal with this continuous and discrete data over digital network. The elements as well as types of multimedia networks used in multimedia system are described in this paper.
