Study the Quality of Service of Scheduling Algorithms with UDP in IP Networks

P. Sankar, C. Chellamuthu

Abstract

QoS guarantee is an important issue in an inter networking of various application with different services. Packet scheduling is one of the methods for guaranteed performance of the network. It provides performance guarantee in terms of drop rate, delay, and delay jitter for the specified throughput. The main objective of this paper is to implement a model for the queue management schemes (Drop Tail, RED) and packet scheduling algorithms (FQ, SFQ, RR and DRR). Performances of these algorithms are studied and compared for various schemes.
