A Survey on Job Scheduling and Load Balancing in Computational Grid

P. Dhivya, R. Giriraj

Abstract

Job scheduling and load balancing is one of the key research area in grid computing. Modern applications are demanding more and more computational power, which cannot be satisfied by the existing individual computers. It involves data storage and network resources across dynamic and geographically dispersed organizations. To select an appropriate scheduling Algorithm is to use in a given grid environment. The goal of scheduling and load balancing is to achieve the highest system throughput and balancing the load of the resources efficiently. Motivation of this survey is to encourage the researcher in the field of grid computing. So they can easily understand the concept of scheduling algorithm and load balancing. This survey will help to developing more efficient scheduling algorithm.
