The Effect of Portrayal of Alcoholism and Smoking Habits in Tamil Movies in Youths

Abstract


The democratic India face many problems. Drug addiction among youngsters is one of the major crisis .Tamil movies influencing college students to drink alcohol. To identify the amount of influence over college students the research select 200 samples from various colleges of chennai. A checklist contains of 20 questions with responses as 0 for Yes and 1 for No. The result was analyzed and the percentages of the scores were obtained in the form of tables and figures. The interpretation was given to each table and figures. The major research found out that the Tamil movies has great influence in smoking and alcohol consumption among college students. The movie shows it as a matter of style and glamour. The need of the change in the portrayal of drug habits has been stressed. The tamil movies are the reasons to increase the drug addiction over college students and it was proved by the samples.
