Design of Meandered H-Shape Microstrip Patch Antenna with Artificial Substrate

Shobhit K. Patel, Y.P. Kosta

Abstract

In this paper, meandered H-shape square microstrip patch antenna with artificial substrate has been reported. Artificial substrate is created by adding metallic square split ring resonators in conventional substrate. The inclusion of these structures allows simultaneous operation over several frequencies. The same patch with conventional substrate design is also shown in the paper. Comparative analysis of the two designs is given in the paper. Design is applicable for several wireless applications. Design results are obtained by a HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator) which is used for simulating microwave passive components.
