Attendance System using Active RFID and Wi-Fi Wireless LAN with Automated Data Testing

Abstract


This paper aims at developing an effective student attendance system designed using active Radio Frequency Identification technology along with Wi-Fi wireless LAN. We use an active RFID tag named DetecTag and a wireless enabled RFID reader. The DetecTag gets detected by the wireless RFID reader and sends across the information to the server. This system can also be integrated with the GSM technology to send a message to the parents if their child has not come to class with automatic data testing.
