Enhanced Energy Management Multichannel MAC Protocol for MANET

B. Uma, S. Jegatheswari, V.R. Sarma Dhulipala

Abstract

This paper presents Enhanced Energy Management Multichannel MAC protocol for mobile adhoc environment (EEM-MMAC). Each node in the network has one half-duplex transceiver. This protocol enables concurrent transmission with power control. It also reduces multichannel hidden and exposed terminal problem by using information gathered from neighbours. We provide an analysis of the maximum throughput of EEM-MMAC and validate it through simulation in NS2. We also compare the throughput it achieves to IEEE 802.11 and autonomous power control multichannel MAC protocol.
