A Novel Approach towards Designing Intelligent Database System for Flexible Querying

Neelu Nihalani, Dr. Sanjay Silakari

Abstract

Using query language for dealing with databases is always a professional and complex problem Natural language interfaces aim to bridge the gap between the users and the databases. In this paper we have proposed a novel approach to Natural Language interface using pre-defined data sets. The system automatically collects the domain information from the schema of the database and transforms this information into knowledge base. It automatically translates natural language sentences to database query by using this knowledge base.

Keywords

Databases, Structured Query Language (SQL), Natural Language Interface, Natural Language Interface to Data Base (NLIDB).
