Design of Test Bench for Underwater Vehicles using MIL 1553 Protocol

Shabnam Parveen, J. Supriyanka, P. Kavita

Abstract

This paper aims in developing a PC based test bench for simulating data for underwater vehicles. An embedded system is used for acquiring the underwater vehicle parameters like flow and depth. This embedded system can be tested in the labs using this developed test bench. This test bench makes use of both hardware and software. The software‟s used are- Visual Basic and Visual C++ for developing the user interface to display the various parameters acquired by the embedded system. Test Bench is designed using Personal Computer interfaced with MIL-1553 add-on card along with connections complying with MIL 1553 standard. The entire setup is used for simulating and displaying acquired data at 10millisecs.
