Performance of BLDC Motor using Matlab-Simulink

G.R. Puttalakshmi

Abstract

In this paper, the performance of BLDC motor was found out using the software package MATLAB/SIMULINK. A speed controller has been designed successfully for closed loop operation of the BLDC motor so that the motor runs very close to the reference speed. The speed control is achieved with the help of PWM voltage control technique. With the help of its user friendly approach and some basic theories, the corresponding MATLAB models for the BLDC can easily be constructed. The simulation results of BLDC motor performance can critically evaluate under MATLAB-SIMULINK environment. The accuracy of this approach can also be verified by comparing the simulation results in MATLAB with the response obtained from the BLDC motor established results
