Abstract

Medicine has a special status in science, philosophy, and daily life. The outcomes of medical care are life or death, and they apply to everybody. Thus mining in medicine is distinct from that in other fields and at the same time very complex Siddha medicine was developed by outstanding Dravidians (ancient Tamils). Preparations are made mainly out of the parts of the plants and trees such as leaves, bark, stem, root etc., but includes minerals and some animal substances. This medicine is still today well known in South India. Disorders in a biological system cause alterations in its normal physiological processes, leading to pathological processes that affect the performance, health and general wellbeing of the system. We classify these disorders by observing respective patterns in the arterial pulse waveforms. In this review we have made an attempt to provided the general information, conceptual basis, different disciplines studies in different systems in the aspect of research and development. In this paper the basic philosophy and main thought of two approaches ayurveda and homeopathy for treatment of human diseases are studied and compared. The comparison deals with philosophy, standard, worth, effect, concept etc. The comparative study shows that both methods have some common characteristics (e.g. both is worked for curing disease etc). But the method used for ayurveda is totally different from that of homeopathy
